Boxwell Campout and PacNic Details
Gaylord Cubworld is reserved for Pack 40 from 12-noon, Friday, May 25, through 12-noon, Sunday, May 27. This event goes on, rain or shine. Camp maps and directions to Boxwell will be distributed to the Den Leaders.Cost. There is no charge for this event. If your Scout would like a Boxwell patch, the cost is $5.00, to be collected by Den Leaders in advance.
Late Arrivals. Bob Smodic must be notified of anyone arriving after 10:00 p.m. on Friday or Saturday so he can notify the Ranger to leave the gate unlocked. Otherwise, late arrivals will be locked out of Boxwell.
Parking will be at the Camp Stalman parking area. Drive into Cub World, unload your camping gear, then park in the designated parking area. If you are coming for the PacNic only, drive directly to the Stahlman parking area and follow the signs to Cub World. If you do not park in the designated area, the Ranger will request you to move your vehicle.
Saturday Dinner Cookout. The Pack will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, plates, plastic silverware, napkins, and condiments. We will also have some soft drinks left over form the Pinewood Derby. Plan on bringing additional drinks for your Den.
The Pack has made arrangements to transport several grills to the campsite.
Bring a table for serving food if you have one and can safely transport it in your vehicle.
Bring blankets and chairs to sit on during dinner.
Den food assignments are:

- Den 7: Side Dishes and Desserts
- Den 9: Side Dishes

After dinner on Saturday night we will have a full awards ceremony at the bonfire, including some songs and the crossover of the second year Webelos into Boy Scouting.
Friday Schedule:
- 12:00 ~ Camp becomes available to Pack 40. Set up your camp in the area designated on the map.
- 10:00 ~ Lights out.
Saturday Schedule:
- 7:30-9:00 ~ Breakfast at campsite.
- 9:00-9:30 ~ Flag Raising (Den 7)
- 9:30-12:00 ~ Activities at Cub World Attractions: Cubalot Castle, Pirate Ship, Native American Village, Western Fort. There will also be a number of organized games in which to take part.
- 9:30-11:30 ~ Fishing Rodeo (See Fishing Rodeo Rules below.)
- 9:30-11:30 ~ BB Guns
- 12:00-1:30 ~ Lunch Break
- 1:30-3:30 ~ Archery
- 1:30-5:00 ~ Activites at Cub World Attractions
- 4:30-5:30 ~ Prepare Pack Dinner
- 5:30-7:30 ~ Dinner is served. All Scouts and Leaders are to be in uniform.
- 7:30 ~ Flag Lowering (Den 7)
- 7:45 ~ Silent Procession to Bonfire
- 8:00 ~ Bonfire and Awards Ceremony
- 9:30 ~ Return to Campsites
- 10:00 ~ Lights out.
Sunday Schedule:
- 7:30-9:00 ~ Breakfast at campsite.
- 9:00 ~ Flag Raising (2nd Year Webelos Scouts)
- 9:10 ~ Non-Denominational Worship Service
- 9:30-11:30 ~ Activities at Cubworld Attractions
- 11:30 ~ Flag Lowering / Closing of Pack Campout
- 11:40 ~ Inspect grounds for trash. Break down campsite.
- 12:00 ~ Head for home.

Fishing Rodeo Rules
- A fishing license is not required for anyone on Council property.
- All fishing must be done at the designated rodeo area only.
- The Scout must catch the fish himself.
- Family members are welcome to fish, however, the contest is open only to Pack 40 Scouts.
- After catching a fish, take it to the supervisor on duty to have the fish's length and weight officially recorded for the contest.
- The supervisor will then release the fish back into the lake.
You can purchase bait at the BP Station about one-half mile (left-hand side) from the Boxwell entrance.
Fishing Rodeo Awards will be presented for:
- biggest fish
- smallest fish
- highest number of fish caught
Waterfront Regulations
- All Scouts and siblings must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- No swimming.
Camp Rules and Regulations
- Firearms and fireworks are prohibited on Council property.
- The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
- Smoking is allowed in designated areas only, away from Scouts. No one under the age of 18 is allowed to use tobacco products.
- No pets are allowed in camp. There are no exceptions.
- All cars must be parked in the designated parking area. Do not drive to the campsite or off the main road except to unload and load your gear.
- No climbing on the inside or outside walls of the castle.
- No running in the campsite area.
- Dishwashing is not permitted in the washstands or showers.
- It is Pack 40's responsibility to leave our campsite area in better shape than we found it.
Fire Rules and Regulations
- We can build fire pits at the campsite for cooking, provided they are dug-out, outlined with stones, and all wood and debris are removed. Do not build fires on top of the ground.
- Fires are not to be left unattended at any time.
- Fire pits are to be thoroughly extinguished upon breaking camp. Outlining stones are to be replaced in the woods and the fire pit is to be filled in with the dirt that was removed to dig the pit ~~ "Leave no trace."
- Gas stoves and lanterns are allowed, but they must be kept at a safe distance from tents and structures.
- There is no cutting of trees for firewood without the Camp Ranger's permission.
